These are just a couple ideas about how I think land and other stuff would be managed in an ideal society. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments/reblogs
- All land is divided into residential, industrial, public service, recreation, wilderness, and surplus.
- Indigenous communities can veto any decision regarding the use of undeveloped land.
- Housing is free and fully resident owned. Housing is designed to be efficient and sustainable while still providing quality living spaces. Most buildings and complexes have their own food gardens, renewable power supplies, and recreational spaces.
- Industry is owned 3:1 by workers and the general public in the area. All local industries function as one, pooling and sharing resources without need for money or bureaucracy.
- Public services are also owned 3:1 by workers and the general public. All services from stores to libraries to hospitals are free. They are also part of the industrial system and can take any resources they need. Public services can also include transportation and infrastructure.
- Recreational spaces like parks, public squares, and sporting areas are free and owned 2:1 by workers and the public.
- Wilderness areas are owned 3:2:1 by indigenous communities, workers, and the general public.
- If land is not being used, there are no plans to use it in the near future, and it is not considered wilderness or otherwise protected, it is labeled as surplus. Small plots of surplus land can be given to individuals and families for residential use. These plots are still fully owned by the public and are returned after the individual claiming them dies. The public still has the power to make decisions regarding claimed land, such as setting restrictions for cutting trees or or limiting construction.
